Does anyone out ther have one they are no longer using? Or does anyone have just the fridge that they want to get rid of?

Thanks!
Travis

Usually this is a bad idea, but there are countless threads on RC discussing refridgerator chillers... Good luck. :)

I was actually looking at the possibility of putting it on the timer with my lights. to give it a rest at night. But that is good info to have.
Thanks!

A timer based setup with a res full of water with lots and lots of coiled poly tubing running through it in an old half size or dorm sized freezer would probably work better than a fridge. But you would need to pressure and leak test the poly tubing to make sure you didn't end up with contamination.

If the issue of heat is because it's getting warmer, consider running your lights on reverse photoperiod for the summer. When my tank was in the top of a house I had to do that or I'd bake. Then in the winter back on daytime cycle.

Could make the tank without breaking the bank, but it makes it hard to enjoy the fishies. :(
