Dorsal Help???

How many spines ? Its the best picture I could get this guy moves too dang much....

some of the white ones look like rays as well so id say at least 11 probably 12 though.

Sorry for my lack of body part knowledge, but the white rays are definitely part of his back top fin. I can see those better in the full image. Its the dorsal thats hard to see. I was not sure if it was 9 or 10, but a member in my local forum counted 10 like me. Thanks!

i always thought the dorsal spines were the rigid hard dorsal rays?? which were the ones they counted?

im probably wrong though but would like to know.
