dosing and top off

I am hoping to make my tank easy to top off this time, and I am thinking about doing an auto topoff system. what are the options and what are some good kits to get? is it hard to setup?

also, I want to get more hard corals and clams, and I was wondering how I should dose? I assume I need to dose for calcium and magnesium, but is their anything else? what are good dosing metods to use, and how often do I need to dose? what test kits will I need? thanks a ton for any help.

also, would just dripping kalk be okay if I set it on a slow/medium paced drip?

Doseing Kalk at about the same rate of evap is one of the common ways, Kalk will help maintaim Ca doing that way depending on tank demand for Ca. Once Mg is up to par it drops very slowly so you usually donot dose it just add it when needed to raise it, Mg is a salt so if adding alot to raise it to par watch your SG. Test kits, Ca,Alk, Mg, I use just the combo test strips for trates and trites, because I nownow my tank and that is just a check for me, I have a Po4 kit but I run a Po4 reactor and know they are low so I only test the outlet of my reactor bi monthly to know when the media is all used up. I was loseing 1-1/2 gal to evap and driped Kalk at a rate of 20 drops per min.
