How many hours do you have to wait to dose cupramine after using prime? I dosed prime around noon today and would like to start cupramine is it safe to do so now?
Given that copper won't be very effective while the parasite is on the fish, you don't have to be in such a rush to get it in the tank. Wait the 24 hours....or 48.....and then get the copper in there. If a particular fish looks as though it's not doing well, a FW dip may provide it some relief in the interim until the parasite moves off the fish.
I have a feeling you're going to regret it. i don't think sodium thiosulfate, the de-chlorinator in Prime, breaks down that fast. Why not just call SeaChem tech support and ask them, they're great? 888-SEACHEM [toll free] Here's some more Cupramine info, http://www.seachem.com/support/FAQs/Cupramine.html#faq2It's already been 24 hours as of now, might start tonight. thx

I seldom disagree with Chris. But, I don't think a FW dip helps with ich, like it does with velvet. The ich parasite is in, not on the fish. The FW can't reach it. (The white spot is not the feeding parasite.)
You're not disagreeing with me....I agree that it doesn't have an effect on the parasite.
I suggest a FW dip from time to time because it can provide a little relief, if only for a short time, by clearing out the gills. Figure it to be similar to nose spray, in that it surely won't get rid of the head cold, but you'll be able to breath well for a few min.
Off topic...but did you guys see this one :mtool: now we can call people a tool with a picture.
