Dosing Cupramine

How many hours do you have to wait to dose cupramine after using prime? I dosed prime around noon today and would like to start cupramine is it safe to do so now?

I treated for ich with cupramine a month ago with success and just recently purchased a tank raised clown and today him a flame hawkfish and the original fish that started it all a wc clownfish have been scratching against the sand and the new clown appears to have white spots. Previously I teated for only 3 weeks, this time I intend to dose for a full month.

Given that copper won't be very effective while the parasite is on the fish, you don't have to be in such a rush to get it in the tank. Wait the 24 hours....or 48.....and then get the copper in there. If a particular fish looks as though it's not doing well, a FW dip may provide it some relief in the interim until the parasite moves off the fish.

I seldom disagree with Chris. But, I don't think a FW dip helps with ich, like it does with velvet. The ich parasite is in, not on the fish. The FW can't reach it. (The white spot is not the feeding parasite.)

You're not disagreeing with me....I agree that it doesn't have an effect on the parasite.

I suggest a FW dip from time to time because it can provide a little relief, if only for a short time, by clearing out the gills. Figure it to be similar to nose spray, in that it surely won't get rid of the head cold, but you'll be able to breath well for a few min.

Off topic...but did you guys see this one :mtool: now we can call people a tool with a picture.

Clearing the gills makes sense.
