Dosing Kent Marine Tech M for Bryopsis algae

I hear this works, so im going to do it this weekend. Im going to raise my levels to about 1800 over the course of 2 weeks and im curious will i need to be cautious of anything. Will high levels of Mag affect my alk...ect?

Just asking before i do this, would rather have someone tell me whats up then kill off my sps and other tank inhabitants.

I cannot answer your specific question about how it affects alk but it is my understanding that CA and Alk are coorelated and not Mag and Alk. Someone else can confirm that. What I can confirm is that Tech M knocked out a nasty Bryopsis outbreak in my 120. Took a few weeks and I was adding 1 serving size cup per day until it was gone. I believe it took 2-3 weeks to see any noticeable difference at all. Then within the next day or two it was all gone. I even continued to dose for a week afterwards. I believe my levels got up to 1750 at the peak.

I also bought it by the gallon from Amazon and still have an extra gallon on hand in case it ever comes back. Hope this helps.
