Dosing MB7 in ULNS

I started dosing MB7, I add 3 drops daily. I also dose vodka and have undetectable N03 and P04, for those that dose MB7 in the form of drops in an ULNS, do you shut the skimmer off for the 4 hours as is recommended in the instructions?

I dose everything downstream in the chamber past the protein skimmer in the sump. That way both the bacteria source (MB7) and the carbon source (Vodka, Vinegar, Biofuel, etc.) have the most time to take up nutrients in the display before they are returned to the sump to be skimmed out. This way there is a much stronger chance that your dosing has dissipated into the water column before it's had a chance to do its' job.

I'm not a fan of shutting off the skimmer during this process. Plugging and unplugging pumps daily will shorten their life. With the amount of money most of us pour into our tanks, I'm not willing to replace pumps and impellers before needed.

I seldom turn off my skimmer pump unless it is quarterly skimmer maintenance. I would only dial down the water level in the skimmer during other cleanup or water change.
Just like Alex says, everything I dose in the tank, including MB7 would go after the skimmer before the return pump.

Cool, thanks guys, I will leave the skimmer on,

Westreef, the instructions specifically state not to inject the MB7 into the inlet of the return pump, not sure exactly the reason for this, (I have some theories) but I add it directly to the display tank.
