Dosing pump for Top-Off?

Have anyone use dosing pump for their top-off water?

I would like some input from those who have tried or currently implementing it to their system.

What are some of the PRO and Con?

I'm currently looking into the Tom Aquatic Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump (with suction pre-filter). Looks inexpensive and reliable based on reviews on MD. Autotopoff.com also sells their own dosing pumps as well.

using the same pump and its the cheapest way to go.... get a float switch off ebay and your off and running.

I already have a GHL Profilux and want to use one of its extra pump as a top off.
