Dosing Pump Question

I have been running an aqua medic calc reactor for some time. It isn't functioning correctly anymore and I diagnosed the problem as my aqua medic dosing pump is not keeping syphon. This means that no tank water is being introduced to the reactor and the effluent is going nowhere. I bought a drew's dosing pump basically to put in its place and pull tank water into the reactor normally.
My question is this a compatible thing? will this work?

Not really. Dosing pumps are not necessairly for constant operation (unless you buy the real medicla/lab grade for big buks). Use a toms' aqualifter. I use it on my Ca reactor and it works great. Flow at 0 head is 3.5 gallons per hour.

I fixed my doser pump..and when it goes out..I'll take a look at the Toms
