Dosing Pump Question.

Im looking to change over to 2 part dosing in place of my CA reactor. I have a fairly established tank. Is there any place that sells a kit that has the 4 dose pumps and controller along with the 3-4 containers? Is this pump similar to the LM III (spectrapure)?

The GHL dosers are a lot different from the unit you mention for starters the system is not external modular for expansion, if you wish to add a pump it fits in the box nice and neat, just remove a blank and install the new pump, you cna then get a further expansion box to add up to 4 more pumps.

yes progressive reef will build a special pack for you but you would need to call them on 1866 997 7333 9.30am onwards PST

Will the 4 pump doser with built in controller be capable of doing auto water changes of roughly 4-5 gallons a day?

Hi

The SA dosers are Stand Alone meaning they have no external inputs for things usch as level switches, they are purely dosing units.

For doing a water change of 4-5 gallons a day this is more than any doser can really handle anyway, maybe look at the $499 beginner pack by profiLux and add two float switches, you can then do way more than just water change.

I dont use any level switches or floats in my system. I just wanted to make sure the pumps were capable of moving 4-5 gallons of water a day and not burning out in 2 months. I use a LM III for ATO right now, and i just set the liter amount i need and let it go. I have a controller for the tank, just need something to do 2 part dosing and something to do auto water changes. I will program pump #1 to remove 4-5 gallons a day, and pump #2 to refill. Not worried about the salinity changing, because i dont use a float for ATO, its a set amount, so if pump #1 or #2 dont remove or fill it wont be the end of the world.

HI

5 gallons is 19,350ML

Based on 60ml/min max dosing rate it would take 322.5 minutes or 5.37 hours to do a water change using a dosing pump.

The trouble with having uncontrolled ATO is you are hoping the evaporation stays the same or does not drop and you end up with too much water

And this is where the ProfiLux comes in, ATO can be 100% controlled and also safely fail safe controlled. you just need one float sensor with fixing kit and also a pump to pump the water in, in my tank build thread you will see I am using a water solenoid directly off of the RO

In your case I would look at the profiLux Plus II with 3 pump doser and two float switches.

This would give you

Ph control
Temp control
Tunze control option
ATO and AWC and leakage detection
dosing of 2 part
3rd dosing pump can be used for ATO
Full list of everything else profiLux can do can be found here
