When I set mine up, the basic approach was to configure and assign between one and four timers for the power channel for each pump. As I recall, the timers can either have the pumps come on every x minutes and run for y minutes, or to have specific times when they fired, like 1am and run for y minutes. Again as I recall, there was a difference in the way those approaches responded to power outages which made me go for using 4 timers per channel, each timer configured to come on at a specific time 6 hours apart.
My dosing starts at 12am with alk, then 1am with mag, then 2am with calcium. Then the process repeats at 6am, 12pm and 6pm. I run the ca pump last because at my peak it was running for more than an hour and would still be on when the mag pump came on.
There are other ways to do it. This is mine. Digital Aquatics has support forums where they go into more detail if you're interested. You could always read the manual too!
