I bought some "Kent Marine - Iodine" and some "Kent Marine - Pro.Buffer dKH"... The reason... My 24g Nano has been up and running for 4 months now, and I dont have much Coralline growth. Also, I have been struggling to get my Alkalinity up about 5...

I have not dosed yet, but what ya'll suggestions and guidance!

Thanks!

test for everything you dose for. the iodine probably wont help your coralline and probably isnt needed. otherwise just be careful not to overdose.

If you are maintaining Ca 420+ppm, Mg - 1280-1350ppm, alkalinity 8.5+ dKH and no grazers on live rock, leaving it bone-clean - you should have the coraline growth within a month.
Mine started to grow only after addition of Mg (IO salt).

i just started

i just started

i just started using it after taking a pro con poll here.. i decided to use it since i only have zoo's..so far so good but def. test often.. i put 1/2 the amount said weekley.

I believe if you change water regularly with a good salt, your iodide will probably be fine.
Are you testing regularly for alk and calcium? My nanos are easier to manage than my 70g, which burns through alk and calcium like gangbusters, but I still have to keep up with the alk (more so than the calc).
As another idea, perhaps a fellow reefer in FRAG can loan you a small piece of LR or something with lots of coraline to seed your tank. Sounds wierd, but I did such to a newbie a few months ago and it appeared to help his tank.
Just FYI, especially for larger tanks, dosing alk and dosing for calcium is a must do. I use the Kent pro buffer you mentioned all the time--good stuff. But you may wish to think about a 2-part additive for alk and calcium.
