Double Carbon

Is it ok that I just added a bag of chemi-pure elite in my filter chamber that leads to the filters stock carbon? I just added it in hopes that it will help with my algea.

You'd be better off to get rid of the stock carbon. Chemi-Pure elite does contain a Phosphate adsorbing resin but if you really want to strip the algae fuel out of the water, remove the entire stock filter box thing and put a small powerhead in its place that's plumbed to a hang-on PhosBan reactor. By the time you change out a few bags of the ChemiPure you would have paid for the cost of a complete reactor setup that would be much more effective.

Ok, I removed the stock carbon. I'll look at a phosban reactor today or tommarow when I go to my LFS.
