Double Order

Hi....I just received a double order of fish from L.A. I have a 90 gallon tank with only a pair of Occelaris Clownfish in it now.

I received two Royal Gramma's, six Banggai Cardinals, two Black Gobies & 2 Orchid Dottyback's.

Other than the two Orchid Dottyback's being housed in the 90 DT, I hope the others will be ok together. I might be pressing my luck with the two Royal Gramma's.

I have them all in quarantine now, luckily, I had a 30 gallon Q.T. tank waiting for them.

I called L.A. about the double order, great customer service as I've come to expect from them. They apologized for their mistake, told me to donate any fish I couldn't house myself.

Thats awesome haha. I wish my orders would go like that. Though all of them may be a challenge, I think you may have some territory issues with the Cardinals as well, once you get a dominant pair.

I'm trying to find someone locally to take a few off my hands soon.....I really wasn't ready for what arrived.
Anyone have experience with 2 Royal Gramma's working in a 90 D.T. ???

I haven't personally but people do keep harems of them. I'd imagine the 90 will give them the space they need as long as there's plenty of rock work. But you may experience jumpers in the qt

They shipped half my order when there was a hold and sent me some wrong corals and now I'm trying to get my correct stuff

Steve....
Do you think the 2 Royal Gramma's & the 2 Orchid Dottyback's will work in the 90 gallon? The Dottyback's are from ORA.

With appropriate aquascape, the two royal grammas should work. While P. fridmani are the least aggressive dottybacks, I am uncertain about two in that sized tank.

Maybe I better start looking harder for a home for one of the Orchid Dottyback's and a few of the Banggai Cardinals .............
Thanks again Steve

I'm confused about the comment about the cardinals. Aren't they good in a group? Other than a little chasing here and there.

The Banggai Cardinals will become a problem sooner or later. In the end only one pair will be left - they will kill all extras or weaker pairs.

Gramma can work if they are still small or all female. If you got two males you will know it right away as they will fight until one is dead. Females may fight as well, but that hardly ever leads to serious violence other than some nipped fins.
I had 3 for almost a year in a 10 gallon tank and they didn't kill each other. They are now in my 100 gallon tank and doing fine together. When I moved them the last time I actually found a nest so they are spawning.

Fridmani should actually work even if you got two males as they can change sex both ways. Key here is to have enough hiding places. Though if you got small tank raised ones (likely from ORA) they are most likely still females.
