doughnut coral (scolymia)

I have one too. place on sand.Mine is not too big, they are supposed to get fairly big, though. we'll see. How are you feeding yours?
 
True Scolymias usually don't expand a whole lot the skeleton-- some but not much. On the other hand Cynarinas (often mistakenly ID'd as Scolymias), will blow up like a balloon, easily 3 times the width of the skeleton. Both tend to do best when placed on sand, but a stable vertical position in the rock work is okay as well.
 
Thanks everyone. I haven't bought one yet but have been looking at one and want to make sure I have a large enough space for it before I pick it up.

Seapug - any good way to ID between the two? The one I'm looking at is advertised as Scolymia but I've gotten incorrect ID's from this store before.
