Ok here we go , all comments and ideas welcome ... I've already built my stand twice so doing something over is no prob (LMK if something is wrong or theres a better way) so my first post will be my stand build (idea room from chrismhaase)

so as i was saying i build it out but all my pieces were off so i took it down a cut all over .. the second time a changed from plywood to oak ...

Looks good.
How are you going to get a sump in there? Instead of the plywood in the center(between the doors) you can screw a strip to one of the doors to cover the gap but then you'd have a bigger opening to get things in and out. I'll see if I have a pic of a stand I built somewhere....

I dont have a good pic. I sold this stand but the red area shows where I'm talking about. When the doors open, theres nothing from hing to hing.

err i didnt think about putting the door next to eachother .. that is a great look .... heres some new pics... i had to put the sump in be4 i put the tank on top ... i have working room but wont be able to pull out sump...

heres what i went with i have refug on a little stand that will just overflow to return pump ... rubber tub with a mag 12 and sock filter room for my skimmer (wink wink Diane) .... i put a shut off to the refug so i can controller how much water passes through ...

That should work. I would get rid of the Bio Balls, they will add to nitrates over time.

no need for them (bio balls)? thats is just the old school in me ... there out now ... i am thinking about putting a wall in the middle of the refug for two chambers one side cheato and other xenia ... whats is everyones refug ...

My fuge isn't real big, but I have a 6"+ DSB plus live rock in there, along with having some more live rock in my sump. And I eventually plan on adding more live rock to the fuge - once I take down my QT / peppermint shrimp tank, I will transfer most of that live rock to the fuge/sump of my DT.

Change that sock...twice a day and that water will clear up in a day or two....

Yes you wash them. Alittle bit of bleach in the washing machine. Buy atleast 7 so you have enough to wash them once a week. I hang them on a line to air out for a day before I use the washed ones.

I would change them every day(if you can) John at FAOIS has them for like $5 each

went and got some rock from a reefer ... it has some hair algae (anything i can do to get rid of it) blue leg crabs , dose , or just pick it off ...

Wow doug very nice...The newly added rock looks great. its really coming together...The lights also look good on it. Cant wait to see it in a few months. Keep up the good work.
