I have a 90g reef as of today, hopefully it will be sold and gone in the next week or so. I will be going down to a 50 breeder by the end of the month. I have some of my equipment that I will be keeping.
Here are the questions:
1. I have a mag 9.5 for a return. I have been thinking that I would like to get a quiet one pump instead for issues with the heat and the wattage. Now that 9.5 does the return and extra flow in my fuge. What quiet one should I use to roughly do the same, but it is not as important that it adds flow to the fuge?
2. For flow in the tank, right now I have two K4 pumps. The owner of the 50breeder now said he ran 1 K4 in the tank just fine. I was thinking of running maybe 2 K2 pumps. This way I could get at least 2 different flows going in the tank. Any thoughts on this?
3. Also what skimmer do you guys recommend for a 50 breeder with a 40 breeder sump? My budget is very tight right now so I can't go off and spend 2 or 3 hundred on a new skimmer, and will probably have to keep my eyes open for a great deal on a used skimmer.
