Dows Glass cages use floating bottom panel?

Just curious if glass cages uses a floatingnbottom panel on their large tanks (240 gallon).

I am purchasing a 240 gallon that busted a seam to redo and might be getting the plastic brace for top and bottom from aqueon and only use the bottom and side panels to redo and not use glass cages glass braces.

Thanks,
Josh

if your talking about removing the euro bracing and cross bracing, then i would say no!

on larger tanks, the plastic rim is only for looks. it serves no structural purpose.

most likely the tank will be build out of 1/2 glass. (which my 240 DAS tank is build out of)

if the tank is built out of 3/4 glass, then you could probably just do the euro bracing with no cross bracing.

(which seam busted? and does the tank have a bottom eurobracing?)

most large tanks dont have a floating bottom pain due to the extreme weight. they will sit on foam and straight on the stand.

I am confused becausemif you buy a 220 gallon from aqueon it does not have a glass brace. It only has the plastic brace on top and bottom and 1/2 inch glass on sides and front. Why couldn't I do the same as aqueon does on their large tanks?

Btw it does have bottom eurobracing.

I got a gc 240 that was dropped and cracked the bottom glass,After alot of work removeing the glass and alot of cleaning off silicone residue,I picked up a new piece of glass. The tank held water for 6 months then I drained it.It will be set-up in a couple of months.A friend of mine bought a aqueon 220 dimisions 72 x 24 x 29 and it only had the plastic center brace and trim.I really would like more braceing supporting the glass.
