Dragon face pipefish Show off

I am currently in the process of setting up a dedicated system for many pipefish. Here was my old pair of Corythoichthys haematopterus. The new tank for my pipe fish is 36''x24''x10'' rimless starphire... seagrass/sps/clam tank.

Anyone know if its safe to mix different species of pipefish? I'm thinking a pair of bandeds and dragons? What are the nicest ones out there right now? These are the two commonly available and ones I have experience in caring for.

Thanks

watch those clams. I've read they can close on a pipefish, especially a bottom dweller like the dragonface.

you say you have this guy in a 260? if so what other fish do you have in that tank as i want to include this fish in my reef tank with other tangs and such is there any conflict introducing them to such a big tank?

Hey guys I really need help this might not be right place, since it's for showing off, but I have a pair of dfp and have had them for about 4 days I have been feeding them baby brine misis rotifers all frozen n I do not see them eat, or moving a whole lot , my pods are not as abundant as before since my six line tore them up so I don't see pods at night anymore. I ordered some live pods by the way. I have a 29 gal, it's 2.5 years , so how long can they go without food? Live pods coming this wednesday. Please someone answer

Hello, keeping any pipefish with a sixline in a 29 gallon tank is a big mistake. I would remove one or the other. Pipefish cannot go long without eating. Look how small they are to begin with. What/how many other fish are in the tank? Welcome to RC.

Thank well there is a six line, two black clowns, flame dart fish, and tail spot goby. They look better today, and tomorrow I will be getting my pods to boost my pods in my tank, I been watching them a lot and the six line is not bothering them at all. All my fish including six line and tailspot blenny eat flake food which is good I think.

The problem comes not because the sixline may bother them, but from the fact that he is quick, and they are slow. He will easily out compete them for all the pods in the tank. I suggest you make some rock rubble piles behind your rock work.Good luck.
