Just got this today from an lfs. I was assured that if i was growing hammer corals like crazy, that i would be able to do well with the Favia. Well i purchased a very nice frag for a very reasonable price.

I find they do best in low light, and not seeing the classic yellow, so not sure it's what is defined as a dragon soul. Healthy piece none the less.

Tweaked is right about the low light. They also show distress if you let your magnesium drop. I've never seen them be aggressive - only short feeder tentacles. YRMV.

That definitely looks to be classic Dragon Soul to me - the ones I've seen have a bright neon green center - never seen one with yellow. That would be nice to find as true yellow is a pretty rare color in the world of stony corals.

Nice collection you have there.

hmm, I always thought the had to have the classic 3-4 colors to be the DS? Could be wrong, but that's what I have.

Tweak, what you have is an ultra a not a classic dragon soul. I'd definitely take yours over my classic. Agreed about never seeing it be aggressive.

Honestly, I pulled that of the web as I was working. This is in fact mine, same specimen however and my point was to show the multi colors. Took me a while to find this piece, but was able to snag it at a LFS in Massachusetts.

You guys also have to take into consideration that aussie dragon souls have the yellow rim and Indo dragon souls do not.

Source of knowledge? Im addicted to favia and favites haha

I was assured that it is indeed an Ausie Dragon Soul. It was a steal at 20 bucks . Also has six eyes or is it mouhs.
