Dragonet breeding?

anyone know anything about this happening? or atleast the pairing, I've heard cases of Mandarins being successfully bred in captivity (small cases) but was curious if anyone knows anything about dragonet doings. (scooters specifically)

Hey,

I know there has been a little *maybe a dozen ppl?* who have successfully raised a Green Mandarin fry. To my knowledge the Scooter Dragonet is very similar in it's mating pattern, egg laying and raising.

If you follow information you can research about a Green mandarin then you should be on the right track.

Yup, the scooter's are going to be the same in terms of breeding. I did have a customer several years ago claim to have a pair of scooters breed and even supposedly had one larvae survive to settle out. However, not knowing the customer that well or seeing it for myself I consider that account unconfirmed.

I have recently had some success with New Zealand BioSecurity in allowing me to obtain Phyto and Rotifers (a big step for NZL Marine Breeding) and will be trying to breed my Green mandarin & BnW Clowns.

I had a pair of red scooter blennies that were spawning regularly. I would also assume they would be very similar to mandarins in their raising.

Congrats Scott, that is a big hurdle you just cleared

No! Thats the good part.. They have dropped their restrictions on the common phytoplankton required for Marine breeding. So it no longer needs to be tracked within the country! It's a huge step forward for the hobby over-here as previously we have been unable to obtain anything for marine breeding in the way of Fry food.

I have access to live culture Initially it's quite expensive but thats only for starter cultures.
