Drain issues

So I have a 125gal which cam with 2 drain holes on the bottom with a Durso standpipe for each side. it does not seem to be working right now. One will drain and the other one just vents air. there is one on each side. What options do I have without drilling the tank to fix this issue? When the wife gets home I will see if she can help me post pictures if needed. Thank you in advance for everyones help.

it sounds like either one is higher than the other or you are not running much flow. with enough flow and the two at similar heights, both will work.

They should be height adjustable. it's kinda' hard to adjust in the overflow but if you take it out you can compress or expand them. The tank needs to be relatively level and the dursos need to be the same height. If one still isn't pulling water, lower it a little bit more than the other until they both work.

They were both all the way down and when you take a tape to them they were the same height. I saw someone had made a coast to coast with PVC and ran it down and it has been working great for them so I am going to try it and see if it works. I hope it does due to the fact while draining the freshwater from the tank the pump got unplugged and flooded the living room

??? for the first statement

and for the second how does the overflows have anything to do with your tank floodingin that scenario???

I agree with KrazyKuch, I have no idea what you meant by either of the above statements, but I am worried that you have little to no understanding of your tank's plumbing. please dont flood your home. post a picture if you have questions.

Are they 'open' durso standpipes - in other words, not behind an overflow? Definitely post pictures.

I also believe rwb500 was accurate in the sense that your pump may not be pushing that kinda flow. I would suggest looking up pump flow on posting pics like suggested.

After pics and we all agree if that's possible. Lol systems with lesser flow u could leave the durso on one side all the way down and have the other side just be a solid piece of PVC an inch or so higher than other side and that will be emergency drain. Again only if pump is underrated would never suggest that with properly rated system

sorry for not getting back on here here is a link which shows the PVC C2C by Ryben which is close to what im doing.

the reason for the flood when the pump was unplugged is I had to unscrew one of the Dursos standpipes to get the last of the water from the main tank. when I did that my pump which I had a hose running outside with got unplugged when I stepped on it. I did not catch it until I heard the water flowing on the floor. It was less then 20 gallons but more then I wanted on the floor. still trying to get good photos but doing a test run of the system again today.
