Drilling a tank locations

I would like to drill a tank that has a tempered glass bottom. My concern is noise from water flowing. How is a tank drilled with tempered bottom would it be on the side up high or down at the bottom on the side of the tank with standpipes. Thanks

you can drill anywhere on the non tempered pane. The location will depend on what type of plumbing you plan to use. I know a lot of people use kits from Glass Holes. I think they had issues with RC so if that shows up as ****s then pm me. You can find them by searching google for their name.

One thing to be careful of - if this is a 55, many 55s have fully tempered sides and bottom. So just make sure that the side you are drilling is not tempered. The sticker normally states something that makes it obvious that all the glass is tempered on the ones I have seen.

its not the banned vendor filter that catches that name, its the profanity filter - last three letters of the first word combined with the first four of the second word ;)

A slight clarification on drilling location, the holes should be placed at least one hole diameter away from the edge, and one hole diameter between each hole you drill.

An example: If you need to drill 2in holes, then there should be 2 inches from the edge of the hole to the edge of the glass pane. There should also be 2 inches from the edge of the first hole to the edge of the second.

This will reduce the likelihood of the glass cracking.
