Ok, that last drilling tank question has me seriously thinking of drilling. I only have a 25 aga tank and I can't fit my extra 10gal into the stand, so I'm thinking of putting a 33long into my basement as a sump and pumping up 8'.
I saw the link for the ebay guy with the drill bits. If I get that, what is the summary of my steps. My tank is set up now. Can I drain 1/3 out and drill? Where do you drill? top corner, top middle? My tank is 24x13x20. I was thinking of drilling the top right back corner about 2.5" from the corner (2.5 down & 2.5 over). What type of "intake" goes inside the tank? I would assume an elbow with a strainer like device on it.
If it's no big deal to drill with fish in the tank, what are the precautions?
Also, has anyone here broken a tank while drilling? If so, why do you think it broke?
Thanks!!
