Drilling back of tank

I am considering drilling the back wall of my tank, but am unsure if it is tempered. It is painted black so I cannot use standard visual tests to verify. Does anyone know if any manufacturers temper the sides of tanks? This is a Oceanic by Perfecto from around 2010. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If it was mine I would scrape enough paint off, test it, then repaint it where I had removed it. Not much magic about black paint.

I found an old thread with a chart indicating all of Marineland/Perfecto's tank stats; according to it, only the standard 55 is tempered on all panels.
