Hi Guys I want to know if there a place that can drill my tank for me in the bayarea?Or if one of u guys can do it for me i will pay u i dont have no tools.

TIA please let me know

Get a phonebook and look up glass shops most will drill some wont. Mine wanted 25.00 per hole so I bought the bit off of ebay for 10.00 with shipping and drill my own now.

30 should be very easy, just grab a cheap rotary tool (expensive one would be Dermel) and then get some diamond bits off ebay.

I do all my drilling free hand (don't have any holesaws), it just takes time, and lots of water.

i can get and cordless drill from my bro. so what kind of drill bit should i get. I want 1 3/4 inc bulkhead for my ovreflow what size drill is that.and for my return i want 1 inc what size is that.

A cordless drill won't work. You need to get a high RPM device like a Dremel. The diamond bits are $7 a piece or so, and you need 2 different ones. The part numbers escape me at the moment.

Long story short I can drill your tank for you if you bring it to me. I have all the parts and have done it many many times in the past for MARS members (I used to live in Davis). Below is an example of a slot and two holes I cut in an Oceanic 33 cube.

I live in the Mission, and a 6 pack of Budweiser is a fair payment for me. :)

Ooops. Here's the cube...

I have found out that you actually don't need two bits.
You can use the cutting one at an angle 45Deg or so, and start it that way.
I used to use the "Glass Drill" first to make a hole but found I don't need to do that really.

Hope all goes well with your drilling.. Don't forget to post pics :)

I used 19V cordless drill to drill my tank and my friend. Never have a problem. Just make sure the battery fully charged. Take under 5 minutes to drill through an 3/4" thick glass.

Using a hole saw?

Yup.. diamond bit hole saw.

:)

Aren't they like $35 a piece? For the two hole saws he'll need he can buy a Dremel and the bits and cut any size/shape hole he likes.

I also use only a cordless drill 19v and the bit can be bought off of ebay for 10.00 with shipping 4.00 for bit and 6.00 for shipping from hing kong. BTW its a diamond hole bit for a drill. Here is a video I made of me drilling a 25 gal tank to prove it.
