drilling tank

Can a half full tank be drilled successfully. If so how did you do it . I need to drill two 2" holes in the back for an internal overflow, on my 90 gal.

It can be done but is also a disaster in the making. Plus drilling holes at an angle is tough. The best approach is straight down at the glass.

I agree with MONTISTEVE. That being said, I drilled my 40 gal breeder when it was half full. Talk about a pucker factor of 10. I went nice and slow, kept it wet and had all emergency supplies around in case of a break. Before I started, I cleaned off the inside tank and put packing tape over the hole area. I still got a little glass in the tank.
Good luck.
