Drs. F&S salt order

So I decided to take advantage of the flat rate shipping at Drs. F&S and purchased the 200g box of Reef Crystals. The shipment arrived in a plain brown box with 4 bags of salt simply labeled "Not for Resale." There seems to be no way to distinguish whether I actually got RC or whether it's bags of IO. I haven't had any problems with them in the past but I understand mixups happen and I don't really like the idea of getting something without any labels on it. I talked to customer service and they didn't really have a way to distinguish between RC and IO either. Have other people had this experience when ordering their salt?

I recive my order las week and the box have the name outside the box, and is not the first time I order with them, never heard of anything like this very wire, hope you got the right salt

Me too. I don't really feel like having to go so far as mixing it up and checking the Ca and Mg to see which salt mix it is. The rep said that she talked to the "buyer" and once they verified what I was shipped they would call me back. We'll see if it gets anywhere

Most salt mixes come in unmarked bags when you buy them by the box from my experience. I would mix it up and test the levels, there isn't much else you can do since you'll only be able to go on their word that it's the right salt otherwise.

I just ordered two 200 gallon boxes of Reef Crystals from Drs. F&S, and the outside boxes they came in were labled/printed as "Reef Crystals". The bags inside the boxes were not labled, and just had the same "Not For Resale" printed on them. It's possible the original boxes were damaged, so they took out the undamaged sealed bags of salt and sent them to you in a unmarked box??? They deal with ALOT of salt, so I'm sure some boxes get damaged from time to time. Just a guess though. Everytime I bought salt from them it came to me labled on the box/bucket.

That's pretty much what I was told. I don't really like the fact that RC and IO come identically marked packages and after my conversation with the rep I was basically told that they could call the manufacturer and verify that I got the right salt (bc mixups can't happen apparently) my only option would be to mix it and test it myself. I guess small stickers on the bags would be too much to ask just to give me that warm fuzzy feeling inside...

It is in a plain box so I guess it's possible that they had to repackage but the issue still remains.

Interesting turn of events...I asked them the procedure for returning the salt if I decided to do so and was told they prefer not to return such a large package. They gave me the option of a credit or a reship and I could just discard the salt I have...let's see which do I take? That sure is a tough one considering I have no issue with the quality of the salt, just the identity. 400g for the price of 200g? Let's see if they label the shipments before too many people get half priced salt

I've ordered RC in the 200# box and it always came in a box that looked like this:

The bags inside were marked as not for resale. I would also be questioning what I got if it were in a plain brown box. Is the brown box labeled Reef Crystals?

I recently purchased 2 boxes of the 200g Instant Ocean from DFS and both came in a marked box labeled Instant Ocean. The bags inside were unmarked, clear plastic, though.

Nope, the only label, inside or out, of any sort was the shipping label. That label was actually on a plain white piece of cardboard that looks like it was cut off the original box and taped to this one. I would've settled for a packing slip or something inside simply stating what was included in the box and/or that the original box had been damaged and replaced.

In the end Drs. Foster and Smith fixed the issue even if I had to come up with a solution for them. I've never had an issue with them in the past and my previous purchases were always of the expected quality and shipped in a timely matter. I won't hesitate to purchase from them again even after this little mixup
