This morning I tested my levels. I couldn't believe what they were. So I had to run down and have steve double check what I had.

NITRATES - ZERO

I don't know how they went down that fast, But then again I don't know why they were sitting at 100 for the last few weeks.
Everything made it through just fine. No one is showing any ill effects of the high nitrates. There is one SPS not doing real well, but everyone looks good.
I will probley do a water change later this week, I'm sure my water is getting a little weak by now.

That would be a good answer to the problem, but I use two separate test kits, Both were showing 100 for the past several weeks. But I am thinking, don't know how possible, I always take take water out of the tank using the turkey baster , that way I could pull from the middle of the tank. Today I pulled it out with the test tubes. To lazy to walk over and get the baster, Could my turkey baster have been the problem this whole time? Since I use the baster to feed the anemones and corals. Could it have had junk built up in the ball, and when I got my water out of the tank, I contaminated it right off the bat. The water wasn't in there that long, but could it have been long enough?

I usally clean it out after I use it. Mostly just swish water through it a couple times. But maybe over time I just got nasty. I think from now on I will just fill my test tubes up at the tank.

did you ever smell the inside of those turkey basters they are gross once you use them for a while. I clean mine about every week and its still gross. I bet that was your problem. Test the water again using the baster.
