Dru's PT II

Has been a crazy bunch of days. I got part II on the 28th and I could not be happier! Thanks so so so much Richard for the best value in live rock and critters. Here are a few shots. Sorry for the size, I didn't have time to resize so these are a bit small. They dont do Richard justice for what he provided. Many other shots in my gallery. Thanks again Richard. I could not be more pleased.

John,
It's hard to believe this is a 30g tank! The coralline growth I see on your rocks is awesome. I enjoyed your gallery alot, too. What is your maintenance like on a tank that size?

Thanks Teri,

it is hard to believe the tank is only a month old. The initial cycle took two weeks and many water changes. 10 days into part II and amonia has never gone above 0.5 ppm. So maintenance has been glass cleaning, and rinsing/changing the filter pad. The tank has the eclipse filter bio-wheel moving water as well as the power head and the skimmer so there is good water movement. Thus far everything seems to be pretty happy. Thank goodness, since I am still on the really steep part of the learning curve.

Nice job!

Nice job!

You did a great job on your tank...and everything looks real happy, a testament to your tank prowess!

What kind of geology do you do?

Geology was my first major in school.....was very interesting, as was in northern california at the time, real near the San Andreas fault..

I do environmental characterizations and cleanups. Most of my work is at Los Alamos National Lab, but also get to work at former Army bases bombing ranges etc. Not much actual geology. But it pays for the live rock and critters.

yes. We are a civilian environmental consulting company. Collect samples. Determin if chemical contamination is present and if it poses a risk to people or the environment and clean things up if needed. Tis the kind of job that keeps your brain working.
