Dry nori

I've been feeding my Foxface Omega One dry nori daily because he loves that stuff. Problem is I think more is being wasted than eaten. I see chunks sometimes in my OF. I use a veggiemag and I think once the nori softens, the foxface can just rip the whole chunk off from the clip's edge. I even cut it into small rip-able strips (like those # advertisement). no matter how big/small of a piece, it's gone when I come back from work. I assume most are somewhere rotting.. I'm more worried about the rotting than the cost of nori.

for those using rocks and rubberband, any issue like this? do you also tie a string on it for easy pulling?

any better solution?

Ok, I admit I just thought of this and haven't tried it. i don't currently have an aggressive algae eating fish, but Foxface is on my list for my new tank.

To keep horses from making a mess with their hay, we put it in nets, so they need to work to pull it through the little holes, supposedly a mouthful at a time.

I think if you put it on a rock and wrap that with a piece of bird netting (plastic net, ~1/4" to 1/2" opening) and secure that with a rubber band, you will limit the amount of nori it can tear off at one time.

We have too much competition in our tank. Have been tearing the nori into small pieces, mixing it in a cup with tank water, and just pouring it in. No waste and no playing with clips, sticking hand into tank. Probably haven't used a clip in 5 years. We go through a lot of nori.
