Dry Rock?

Just wondering if anybody is aware of any decent quality dry rock for reef use available in the Chicago area? I've toured a few stores already with no real luck, but if anyone sees anything they think would work well in a reef tank, please reply! Thanks!

i work in a pet store
we do not stock, but have available to us a product
sold as "reef bones"
if i remember correctly its from the company CARIBSEA
comes in like 45lb boxes i think
if you are willing to buy the whole box sight unseen I'm sure a LFS would be willing to give you a very good price
it should work out to be about 1.50LB

its been a while since i've ordered any it may be more
i do know once you get it mature in a tank with a little purple on it you cannot tell the difference between LR
any other questions about this product let me know

That's one of the options I'm considering, actually. It's about $50 for 50 pounds (mailorder), but the price more or less doubles with shipping. Was hoping someone knew of a LFS in the Chicago area that either stocked the Caribsea products, or had something similar that I could pick up for a reasonable price.

I may also purchase from one of the local reefers that have some dry rock on-hand already that they're looking to get rid of, so thanks for the replies on that as well. :)

if you ask at a few LFS you could possibly get w/o the shipping
if you cant get any from the person puffer suggests i may even be able to get it for you

FWIW, I did attempt to contact Chewal, but no response to my mail. I'll see if any of the LFS will special order the reef bones.

Thanks!
