Everything on list is on hand, just need to get rolling on execution.

On Hand
-2 XR15w G4 Pro's
-Ecotech Reeflink
-2016 Apex controller
-4 Apex DOS pumps
-DSA105 Neo Rimless (Planet Aquarium guys helped me finally determine non-starphire...:sad2:) with DSA stand (pretty rough paint job, I'd like something taller, may be ok at first)
-New 16" synergy overflow
-Trigger Ruby Elite 36 sump (Not sure if I like this setup, may sell)
-Vortech M1 return pump
-2 Vortech MP40QD's
-Avast CS1 skimmer (Looking at upgrade options)

Task List

-Remove old big-footprint overflow (Done-what a bear that thing was)
-Resilicone corners (Clear or Black....:hmm6:)
-Drill back of Tank
-Install 16" Synergy Overflow
-Plumbing (Manifold for future reactors)

Likely Mid-spring objectives
-Build different stand with side cabinets to store chemicals and Apex modules (Frame finished, but I may switch from a 2x4 with 3/4 skinned stand to a full 3/4 plywood stand)--Look out for a FS thread
-DIY Algae Scrubber build/install

Big thanks to greef2015, Marquiseo, & Reddevil.258 on R2R for cutting a few deals to make this build happen.
Pics to follow.

Welp....the Synergy Reef 16" overflow drilling went well. Notice my booger rigged drill bit guide taken from an old grape box. Lesson learned-the higher drill speed is totally ok. First hole 10 minutes, my impatience made the second happen in 3.

Questions: it has 1.5" overflows, I have a Vectra M1. What is the value in keeping the drains 1.5's?
Returns: I'd like some suggestions on height, locations and plumbing sizes for the two returns.

Cut out all the old silicone and prepped glass to redo it. Question: the gap between glass is filled with clear. I'd like to do black, but worry it's going to look strange. Thoughts?

Yes I do too! Does the space in between the glass have black as well? My issue is that mine is clear and I'll be coming over that with black. Wondering if it'll look too odd

What's the best way to seal the original 4 drain/return holes in the base? I was going to put bulkheads in, glue a short 2-3" pipe/cap, and drill holes in some rock to place on top. Any other thoughts?

Yes the silicone in between is black with vary minimal on the actual glass itself.

Ah ok. Figured. think it will look strange if I go over clear with black? It's only the layer in between the panes.

Silicone is done. Looks great.
Just realized my M1 ecotech pump has a 3/4 intake/outlet.
I drilled my tank for 2 1" returns and with the new 16" synergy overflow 1.5" drains. The pump has plenty of oomph for a 105g and 30 g sump, but now I'm not sure where to reduce/expand. In the sump, I have 3 1" holes for drains into fuge and the 2 socks.

Question-If I stick with 1.5" drains, I need to drill bigger holes in sump top (trigger ruby elite).
I have materials to tee off a 1.5" into 2 1" returns, but then I'd be upsizing a 3/4 return up to 1.5", then splitting to 2 1"'s. I'm not sure that makes sense. Any pro's/ cons to doing this? Where should I reduce/step up?
Advice on where to reduce?

For any future reefers, both BRS & Ecotech said it's best to go 3/4 all the way up. The pink elephant of head pressure to me is the lock line anyway., but that's my opinion.
