DSLR & Lens Recommendations

Looking to get a DSLR & lenses(Preferably Canon 30D or 40D) Was wondering what lenses should I also get with one of these cameras that would take good macro's and capture day to day special events. Was wondering if you know of any websites that sell good package deals or even refurbished cameras. Let me know thanks.

Get the 40D with its kit lens. Its a pretty nice walk around lens. I believe its a 24-105 IS. Then either get the 100mm f2.8 macro or if your currency challenged, sigma makes a nice 50mm macro. I bought one for my GF and it takes great pics.

The 40D will Not come with the 24-105 MM as a kit lens. The kit lenses that come with the 40D are either the 18-55MM EFS, 17-85MM EFS IS or the 28-135MM IS. The 24-105MM is an L series lens an excellent lens but does not come as a kit , it is a 1000$ lens in itself.

28-135 was the lens I was thinking of. Thanks. I have a 30D, I bought the 40D for my girlfriend for xmas.

I like to use Amazon.com. They either have the best price or list the place with the best price. Other option is B&H.
