DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hi and WOW!!!!!!
Right now I'm deployed to Africa for 12 weeks, and all I have is dial up type speed internet...Which Sucks! However after the 13 hour work shifts in the hottest place I have been, I still find time to keep and eye on this tread! This is one very cool build and I have enjoyed watching all of it!!! Please post tons of pics!!!!
Thanks
Joel

Joel. Thanks.
Hope you have a good time in Africa. Hot weather won't kill you for sure.;)
I will post as many pics as I can.

These are much lower light corals, actually a lot of them are nocturnal predatory. They just wouldn't work in the display tank, and besides all that, really wouldn't have much of a place in the main DT anyway given the looks that he tries to achieve with his tanks.

cloakerpoked. Thanks for your explanation.

Beautiful ching. I'm assuming you were not affected by the quake and tsunami? Also are you concerned about the soft corals releasing toxins to kill the SPS? Are you running carbon? T

myerst2. Thanks.
I am doing fine. Thanks for your concern.
No, this small group of soft corals will not harm SPS.
I do run carbon.

Chingchai can you tell me the name of this coral? That coral is amazingly stunning.

bubba1170. Thanks.
I already answered the name of that coral. Please check on the above post.

That is a spider sponge coral. It is a sponge that has non-photosynthetic zoas/palys growing on them. They are very difficult to keep. Chingchai you will have to keep us updated on the softie tank just as with the main tank, or maybe you can make an additional thread on that one for the non-photosynthetic forum!

Yes, I will keep you guys updated on this tank.

Hello chingchai,
congratulations on a wonderful tank and setup:thumbsup:
I have spent the past two afternoons reading the whole thread/s, your attention to detail is astounding and matched by your patience in answering everyone's questions. I will continue following this thread with great anticipation. Well done and long may it continue:dance:

i really love it!
it started looking like a true reef and we have still more to see!
thanks for sharing ching

i guess your achilles will be present also in this tank huh?

Are the last corals from your other tank? They have great colors. Fish look great!! Cardinals are one of my favorite!! Congratulations Ching!!!!!!!

To be exactly, I don't know.
Will do frequently feed with Phytoplankton, oyster egg etc..
Any suggestion? Thanks.

If you have the space, 3 syringe pumps in a small refrigerator, 1 for phyto, 1 for oyster eggs, 1 for rotifers (all concentrated commercial products) would work great.

I hardly ever sign in and comment on this site, but it seemed a crime not to for this tank. You have acheived greatnesss with this build. "Awe Inspiring" is simply an understatement. A fantastic tank sir! I can only imagine how long you must have sat looking at the tank when the fish finally went in. I think you owe it to yourself to get a great bottle of wine, find a great chair for that room and chill.

Any plans for tangs or wrasse in this tank? Just curious. Cheers to you!
