DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hello chingchai,
congratulations on a wonderful tank and setup:thumbsup:
I have spent the past two afternoons reading the whole thread/s, your attention to detail is astounding and matched by your patience in answering everyone's questions. I will continue following this thread with great anticipation. Well done and long may it continue:dance:

Wee Duncs. Thank you for your kind words.

I hardly ever sign in and comment on this site, but it seemed a crime not to for this tank. You have acheived greatnesss with this build. "Awe Inspiring" is simply an understatement. A fantastic tank sir! I can only imagine how long you must have sat looking at the tank when the fish finally went in. I think you owe it to yourself to get a great bottle of wine, find a great chair for that room and chill.

Any plans for tangs or wrasse in this tank? Just curious. Cheers to you!

FloodXL. Thanks a lot.

I am looking for school of Achilles tangs and one or two rare wrasses.

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!!
If only I lived conviently need to and reef hot spot..... dang it!

Beatufil tank and a great piece of work!!

Guess I can add to that if I only had a 1000 gallon tank, and a room large enough to hold all of this equipment. Oh, and the vision and passion to accomplish such a collossal undertaking :):fish1:

Looks like you already filled up your tank a lot with all those new maricultured corals. What about all those huge SPS in your 300g? Save some room...

Amazing spread.Hope your monti is ok.Do you think its getting enough light being on lower side.I heard purple monti require a lot of light. Is that true.I have a purple hence the question.

WOW! This system has been really well planned out and executed, a great job done by you and your team. I have no doubt that when finished (is a reef tank ever finished?) that this will be one of the top 5 aquariums in the world and will be referenced in many future books.

Only thing that bugs me are the cables from the Tunzes my eye keeps getting drawn to them, I guess because everyother part of the system is so clean. each pair of streams are next to a standpipe could you not zip tie the two cables together and tape them to the back of the standpipes?

Ok, I finally have to post as well, hope you dont get to much of all the praise.

It sure is amazing, if thats even enough of a word for it. All the attention to detail and the clear plan and structure made it obvious from the beginning, that you will accomplish something unprecedented. But seeing it come to live is another thing entirely.

The most beautiful part is the dimension and your aquascape. It was already incredible when Sanjay did a similar scape, but your commitment to detail and a "clean" view takes it to another level.

I wish you wouldnt add millions of corals to make the technical stuff dissapper, there will be other options like already mentioned. The pumps themselfs dont really hurt the view at all, nor do the white pipes, they vanish in the background, only the black cables get into view, and you can easily fix that.

The view as it is right now really gives you a feeling of freedom, it looks like a perfect place for fish, great swimming space. The corals you already have will grow a lot in your environment and you will surely add some more. I just want to say, even in its early stage right now, it already looks perfect. You wouldnt even need to add more, but of course adding will still make it better.

It just shouldnt be too much. Everything I have seen from you so far, also in other threads (I particularly remember this "modern design" thread) shows a great understanding for design. I think a designer once said, its not art to put so much into something, so that no one can add more, its art to remove so much that no one can remove more.
Of course that doesnt fit entirely, but I think you get what I mean. The tank has to fit you and your view of designed living and I think its right on track ;)

So if your initial plan was to really put so much into it that the cables, pipes and pumps disappear, I think it would look like a common crowded wall again (fruitstand as many call it), and that might ruin the feeling of freedom, which the tank emits already.

Of course thats all personal preference and was just my opinion.

Ching, checking in after a couple of weeks & wow what progress. Love the rock work & your choice of fish; also that you are introducing them in large groups. would love to hear more about your plans for the softy tank.

Just a quick question. In a tank that large and deep, how are you going to keep the arogonite white and clean?
I'm sure people would pay to do the cleaning for you.
