DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Looks better and better each day, Chinchai!!!! how much of a wave are you getting with both boxes firing to the front like that? I have a standard size wavebox firing 8' down the length of my tank. I plan on trying a WB nano firing to the front, to see if I can get more wave action. Right now I get about a 1" to 1 1/2" wave.

Sorry for late reply.
murfman. Thanks.
I don't get much wave from that position.
I can get higher wave if I face them to the length side.
But as I planned from the beginning, I want everything to be at the back side of the tank only.

Hey Chingchai .... the placement of clams, donuts, trachyphyllias, fungias etc. from left to right in your tank looks "unnatural" ... they should be spread out and not in a straight line across if you know what I mean?

Care to book me a flight over to re-arrange them? :lol2:

Paul

Paul. Thanks for your tip.
I already re-arranged stuffs on the sand. Will take pics and post soon.

I will provide air ticket for you if you can carry some rare fishes and corals with you. Is that a deal?:p

Ching, do you have any pictures of the process when you get new corals and want to affix them to either the rocks or place them on the sandbed? Great build and great pics, thanks for sharing it all with us.

Sorry. I don't have that kind of pictures.
Thanks for your kind words.

your LFS make me jealous ..... i live in indonesia but it's dificult to get that kind of sps coral...(especially aquaculture not wild) :sad1:
when i see the size of the sps colony... look familiar. are they from bali or jakarta....??

If I don't remember wrong, this farm is in Jakarta.
The owner's name is Brian.

I really love the whitening of your sand bed, you didn't face any algae trouble in there did you? Are you dosing bio digest?

I do have some unwanted algae on the sand bed. I have to shift it twice a week.
Yes, I dose Biodigest and Bioptim every two week.

Mister Chingchai
send you a pm earlier just wanted to say WAAAAAW again
where you buy your feeds?
Cant seem to find any good feeds in chatuchak or am I just not looking good?
looking for mysis, copepods, brine and so on?

So you are Dirk&Noi in Siamreefclub. Right?
There is some local frozen fish food in Chatuchak market.
For coral food, you have to go to Wordwidereef shop.

For your information, I use Eheim1264 universal pump (http://www.reefdepot.com.sg/AddProduct.asp?ProdID=363)
to pump up water from sump to refugium.

Hi Chingchang

I have been following your tank updates for a number of years and am keen to take a look at your setup. I will be in Thailand in April 2010 and would be keen to meet you and get some advice as I am setting up a new tank of my own.

Zaheda (South Africa)

Hi Zaheda,

You are welcome to see my tank.

Chingchai,

Your tank is an inpiration to me and has sparked my passion for this hobby. I work on so many tanks that I have been burnt out for a while. Also I have to give mad props to your maintenance Technician, as it seems that he keeps your tank in fine condition. Most don't see the actual work that goes into a tank of this magnitude. It becomes a part of your soul. I am sure he really enjoys working with a master piece like yours.

AQUA DAVE. Thanks so much for your kind words.

Looks like some type of hydroids in this piece. I had the same thing a few years back and found they tend to die off within a few months in low nutrient tanks.

You have likely answered this already, so sorry I didn't want to go through thousands of posts but I'm just curious, are you planning to leave the back glass as is or put some sort of back ground? Great stuff as always. Your skills continue to inspire.:eek1:

Greg. Thank you for your kind words.
I will leave back glass as it is.
