DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hi Ching
I have been following this thread, and many others, from the start.
This is my first post on RC and to be honest it was a coin toss on whos thread I would post on.
I joined RC as i am planning a large 2200 gallon system myself and you guys certainly know how to put a large system together!
So this is just a breif congratulations on your stunning system, thankyou for putting together such a concise and informative build thread that has become an inspiration not only to myself but has also spured on other great build threads, Peters for example.
Hi to all on RC, you guys have contributed to a fantastic forum that has been a huge help to me in planning a large system.

d3hree. Thanks a lot.
I am always happy to know that my build thread is an inspiration to other reefers.
Looking forward to seeing your build thread here.

I forgot to tell you guys that I already changed the music of this video clip.
The previous one has problem with copyright so some country can't view it.
Hope this one works okay.

Yes, I need more rare Angels.
But I can't find any of them yet.:sad1:

these rare enough for you mr. ching?

Centropyge hotumatua - Easter Island

Centropyge nahackyi - Johnston atoll

Centropyge debelius - Mauritius

Genicanthus semifasciatus - Philippines, Japan

Genicanthus semicinctus - Kermadec Island, Lord Howe Island

Genicanthus spinus - Pitcairn Island

most are unobtainable but i won't be surprised if you pull one out in the near future.

You know what, I think they are already available in Singapore and my friend is going there on this weekend.
But when I read the last line of your post.:(

hi chingchai!

nope. none are available in Singapore or anywhere else for that matter.

hotumatua and debelius have no collection as of yet but i've heard rumours? so keep a look out. debelius is really deep though.

nahackyi so far no collection? though there's a few in captivity.

spinus and semicinctus no collection. too remote islands at pitcairn and kermedec respectively. you could hire your own collection team though :)

semifasciatus is the most obtainable out of all. they are still rare but come occasionally from philippines.

I thought there was only on centropyge nahackyi in captivity at the waikiki aquarium. I think they collected 7 but all but one died:(

Also the USFWS probably wouldnt let collectors got to johnston atoll for centorpyge nahackyi, but maybe they will allow it for captive breeding for the trade. My dream anyways:)

actually i'm not sure. AFAIK only one alive in waikiki now.

in kiyoshi endoh's book there is a picture of a nahackyi in a holding facility. either belongs to waikiki before they put it in or someone in japan. so i'm not sure really

but the case is not the same for smithi butterfly. 8 were collected, 1 to waikiki and 1 for research and i think the rest to japan. Dr. H. Tanaka has a picture of a smithi in a LFS in japan and he took a few photos of it. i don't know the fate of the smithis but i think somewhere, someone out there has a smithi in his own house.

and maybe the same for nahackyi? we can only dream haha!

i too would like a nahackyi.

so amazed to see this video ...... :D:D:D
