dual reactors (brs) help

whats the best way to remove the gfo and just run carbon through my reactor.
im sure i have to turn pump off but does the water run out after unscrewing the chamber.

The canisters will be full with water. Generally this isnt a problem if you have them mounted over a sump and some water spills. If not, you can hold a small bucket/container under the canisters when removing them

changed my gfo and carbon and it was way easy, dont know why i was stressing out lol

When I change my dual out, I do it when I do water changes so the sump is empty and the reactor pump is off. Once the water level drops in my sump below the output line, the canisters drain out about half way and I never spill a drop.
