Dual Tunze 6105 Placement

Hey,

I am going to be running 2 6105's with an Apex controller on a 72x24x24 tank.

Where would be the optimal spots to put the 6105's?

Thanks!

Mike

This is largely trial and error based on tank layout. Our generic starter suggestion is a pump in each back corner aimed to hit the front roughly 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the way across the tank. Aim to hit the front at about 5ft away basically.

If this is your only flow that probably isn't the best option a wave should be accompanied by directional current. You would aim one pump at the other, one on each side and use inverse timing.

Since the pump can be angled up and down this is less important. I would have them at least 5" from the surface so they don't pull in air and keep in mind that surface turbulence is important to oxygenation.

need help with this too. i have 2 6105s on a 7095 controller. same size tank.
i basically have two islands, one on the left one on the right, goes down in the middle where there is a gap, there are no rocks leaning on the back wall either. I am still not happy with the flow and am still tinkering with placement and settings on the controller. any help? TIA!

This is largely a trial and error process. You might try both pumps in the center back aimed to the nearest front corners. You could also try the recommendation I have given above or front corners aimed to the back center. I would generally use Interval 2 with a 6 hour interval and 3 second pulses from 30-100%.

hi

if you have picture of your pump in the tank show on the forum is a good idea :) i will try to set my pump tomorrow.
