Dumbest Clowns Ever???!!!

Okay maybe not the dumbest but the most annoying. I have 2 black Occs. in the 12 gallon I have and they are crazy. All they do is swim in the very top portion of the tank. They swim all over the place. My wife says they are playing tag!! I wish they would settle in a little bit and explore the rest of the tank. Is there anything I can do to help them settle in? They have only been in the tank for 5 days. It seems like they are stressed out(at least I am). Any suggestions? Thanks Chris

That is common behavior. Just be patient and they will settle down eventually. Then they will start hosting a power head in the back of your tank or something. Love my clowns but they get on my nerves. LOL

My freinds baby clowns did the same thing and took to a power head then the intake pipe. They swim around all over now but don't host yet. Bet they are cute!

I got my baby clowns at the Jan frag meeting, one was only about a dime size baby. They took the Vortex pump since day one, they keep me on my toes, I was afraid that they get suck in to the pump. But they're doing fine so far and growing.....They still hang around the pump, I wish they would go else where.....The frag swap meeting a year before I got 2 baby clowns then, thanks to Angela...lol....It took'em a while, but they took on the zoo colony for housing..... :)

My clowns are BORING! They hardly ever leave their frogspawn...with the exception of when their favorite morsel of food doesn't fall close enough to them, then they scamper out, grab it and jet back to their spot.

I could get by with a 1/2 gallon tank for those guys.

I got two tomato clowns in a GBTA and they are a blast to watch. They feed the GBTA and protect it. Pretty cool to watch

lol...thats hilarious

I got a pair of tank-raised false percs a few mos back. For the first couple of weeks, all they did was ride the currents from one side of the tank to the other. When the multicontroller would switch from one side to the other, they would ride back. They would just do laps like that for hours.

They pretty much sleep in a large red monti cap at night; I think it provides an eddy from the current. So far, no interest in a frogspawn that I got from Angela (and that's already started budding new heads!). I don't think that they're the smartest fish in the sea in general, but these particular two clowns came from Alabama , so that kinda makes it that much worse....
