Duncan coral

lost ball in high weeds
I got a good deal on 25 heads of duncan coral. I was wondering where is the best placement for them. I have a 110 x-high (30") with 400w 20k lights. Should I put them low on the rockwork or on the sand? Any other tips for growing/fragging this coral. Thanks

They can be acclimated to just about any light, but they should be started low in the tank in indirect light then move them gradually. They love to be fed meaty foods a few times a week also. They will multiply much quicker if fed. They can go in the sand or on rocks. Mine are in the sand i think they look nice there. Its pretty much all personal preference, they can go anywhere if acclimated properly.

Good advice on the post above. I picked up one large duncan frag (one head) with a 2" stalk about two months ago. I have been feeding it once or twice a day. I just turkey base some food in its mouth while I feed my fish (not much of an extra hassle).

Now it has over 12 new heads coming out of it. 4 of them are almost fully developed.

I usually just feed the duncan what I feed my fish, brine and cyclopeze. Sometimes I try to feed freeze-dried krill but it usually floats out.

I am going to make my own food soon from the sites recipe so I can give it some real meat.

If they are a nice color and have big polyps you have a potential gold mine on your hands. Feed those suckers like crazy.

Looking back I wish I would have gotten 8 heads rather than just one.
