How much light and flow do they usual prefer

Im not sure but I would google it and find some reputable articles online. That way you can combine known facts with (hopefully) scientific evidence and the experience of reef central reefers to make your best decision. You shouldnt soley rely on whats on the boards....imo

Duncan can do lower light medium flow.
It will take higher light too, but not necessary.

Well I have mine at the bottom of a 90g. So for mine, low light and medium to low flow

I have found that mine do not like a lot of flow. But they can deal with low to high light.

ok yeah thats wat i have read up on so far, so i am gonna try low flow with medium light and see how it goes thansk guys

I found that they tolerate just about anything, at times loving and hating high flow, but feeding is key for growth.

If you increase the flow their tentacles get longer. Mine is at the bottom of a 75 gallon 20" tall tank with 6x54W T5s and the flow is 45-60x

I have mine in the middle of a 180g with 3 250mh and 2 160vho actinics with about 35x water movement and mine are doing great. in 4 months went from 3 head to 14heads

I had mine in the center of my tank under a 150MH light and 4 T5's, and moved it to the bottom of the tank where it seems happier. Seems to like medium flow. I started with 1 head and can't count now, even after fragging it a couple times. It also dropped a baby, which I monted to a frag plug, and that baby now has 5 heads. One of my favorite corals!! Very hardy too. It survived a 3 day power outage in my tank last winter due to an Ice storm, and temps went down in my tank to 58f degrees.
Here's a pic of the mother colony, and the baby it dropped in the pic below that.
