the aussie duncans always seem to be more colorful online. mine isnt a aussie, but i still love it, it reacts quicker than any other lps in my tank so far.
I've had it for a little over a year. it proly had about 30 or 40 heads when I bought it. over a hundred heads now. just cut my first frags off it last week.
Good luck with the chalice. I see a lot of people talking about them on the site. Myself, they don't appeal to me yet. Maybe it is cause I'm newer. I dunno.
Edit: I am assuming that is a nem just left of center and humongous, is it? What type?
I bought some rubble rock one day and in it was a long dead coral skeleton with a bit of mucos on the end. Over a month it turned into a duncan. I don't know what kind but it's got a green base with pink/white fat tentacles, OR under different light has the opposite, a pink base with green/white tentacles. Weird.
I always wonder what kind it is. My phone doesn't take good pics or I would probably know. Whatever it is, it hitchhiked so maybe it's not a usual specimin we see? Or maybe it is. It just looks different to me than usual Duncans...but I haven't seen many.
When it arrived:
Few weeks later: It's first head has grown and 3 more coming in
Today, a month or so later: 4 fully defined heads, 2 more showing under the biggest
Here is a pic of mine. I have two different colors. Right side have blue centers with pink/purple fingers and the left side has green centers with peach fingers. The ones on the left are mad at me right now, i dropped them.
