Dwarf Tank Setup ?'s

I am considering converting an old 40 gallon into a specialized tank for a dwarf lionfish (not sure on which type yet). I don't really have a lot of room to setup a sump system (although if I need to I guess I will try to find a way). Also Mr Lionfish will be the only fish in the tank, no coral or other fish

so my questions are as follows:

1. I plan to put live rock for filtration...how much is good? ratio per gallon? same as a reef setup?

2. What kind of flow do i need? how many GPH?

3. Should I add any other filter media? over the back? protein skimmer?

4. Recommendations for hardy dwarf? also one with lots of personality!

Thank you much!

#1: 60 lbs of LR
#2: min. of 800gph
#3: carbon and filter pad. #3 part B: no skimmer necessary if one fish.
#4: they all have about the same personality. eat everything that will fit in their mouth. and just look good doing it.

also thanks for the link

anyone else have suggestions?

i have a dwarf fuzzy in my 125 and i love him. he knows when its feeding time and is right there waiting to get the first pick for dinner. i have him with damsels, anthias, small cowfish and other fish along with numurious crabs and inverts and he doesn't bother them at all. good choice going with a lion fish species tank. there cool fish to watch, very graceful.

ina 40g i wouldnt go for a fuzzy. in long run i feel its getting a bit small if its for only when its a baby that cool :)

A Fu be cool for life though IMO

Frog fish are so out of this world looking.
Fuzzy Dwarfs are te best mine stayed out in the open and lots of personality especially when they beg for food.
Mine only ate got loaded marine mollies though he was a great fish until my puffer though he would make a nice snack.
