Dwayne's SPS Elos Tank from Canada

Lol snake.... Nothing like a snake to help speed things up.

I just read they can grow up to 6' and live to 23yrs in captivity, I hope for your sake it was not that big .

We have holes so we have mice and now apparently we have snakes

So what you're actually saying is that your mice problem just solved itself? Do you get wild cornsnakes over there in southern ont. or was it a pet that was left around?

On a serious note, that new set-up looks sharp! good job.

Please tell me what this milli is called? Absolutely gorgeous.

Here is the snake, Im not much in to reptiles but could not show the guys working on the tank I was a wussy so grabbed it. Believe its a corn snake, it bit the rag and would not let go but I guess thats better than biting me

I put it in a 10g and covered it with egg crate. Cam back an hour later and it had escaped. Presumably it is now living in my basement, my wife will no longer go down there LOL

The milli was a wild piece I aquired, it has lost a little colour from the repeated dips but is bouncing back nicely. Sold a couple of frags which went very very quickly

I am still dosing BRS salts as I could not find the FM product anywhere in Canada. This past week I found out that BRS now sells FM so I ordered a bunch of the larger containers. I really believe my growth and colour were better with the FM products but thats just me. I have a 5g bucket still to use up of BRS though :(

You are so helpfull :)

Id say we have a winner, the photo we took is terrible. It was a beautiful snake, I was hoping to keep it as my son wanted one and I thought to myself " free snake " perfect

Alas, snakes are escape artists and he crawled right out of a 1cm by 1cm opening (egg crate)

Who knew ?

Absolutely stunning tank! Everything is gorgeous from a-z. The colonies are so colorful and unusual (yes envious of all those rr Canada frags). The tank is meticulously maintained, not a spot of coralline algae on the glass anywhere. And the size of the colonies is impressive. Just amazing overall. Congrats on your success and skills at reef keeping

You are way too kind :)

Been slacking off lately so dont look too close LOL
Thanks again, hope to take some more pics next week

Thanks, it was one of my first LE pieces I ever bought, have grown out then RTN's 2 different times, save a branch and grew it again. It always seems to max out to certain size then dies back, stinking thing

Shortly after this pic it STN and several branches died BUT it stopped and all seems good for now.

Didnt even frag it, just let it decide if it was gonna go or not

So a month after I wrote this post I had a guy who wanted a couple of frags. I went to snip some and broke off the entire colony. Was upset with myself for sure.
Well fast forward to another couple of weeks and sure enough my RD has STN'd again on me

Have 2 large branches unaffected but have decided to just let it be and hope it will recover. As I wrote above this has happened several times before but man it just sucks.

Thought I would take a few pics of some random stuff on the sandbed
Taken with my Samsung Galaxy SII so dont give me too hard a time :)

Thought this was pretty funny, Starfish molesting an Aussie Scoly

Did you call any of the local shops?

Garry has the FM balling salts in stock in London.
Flavio has them in stock in Milton. I was there just a couple days ago and he had a ton in stock.
Those would be your 2 closes shops to London.

Dan and isabelle have them in stock close to the GTA airport.
Tom in Oakville has em.
Mark and Shawn carry all the Fauna foods but can get the balling salts easily anytime.

Will you be at the frag swap this weekend?

This was a problem approx 8 weeks ago. I did call the "local" shops even though many are 2 hours away from me. ORG is who I would normally go to for this but he was out. Of course when you are dosing and you run out you have little choice but to buy something else, so I did. Went with BRS as it was convenient. I have lots in stock now but will shop local next time I am in need. Thank you

I hope to be there but not likely, Flagswipe is a weekend business I am afraid so I need to work to make money to pay for all this stuff !
My tank will be well represented though as at least one vendor will have a whole bunch of sticks from my tank.

Well hopefully you can sneak out for a couple hours, Trina and I will be there and looking forward to meeting other sps fanatics.

Otherwise I will have to come by flag swipe with random frags to see if we can swap frags and field time :P
I used to play paint ball many years ago when I live in St Louis. Back when it was all auto mags vs auto cockers and I definitely miss the rush.

You are always welcome, I love to show my tank, kinda proud of it just not very loud about it :)
Ive been playing for over 25 years and in the industry for 20 now, have seen just about everything come and go. Still remember my first Automag and Autococker. Funny thing, my company just re released the "Resurrection" Cocker, it will be available Friday, its is BadAss.

Actually you should hold the next frag swap at flag swipe!

You could have 1 vs 1 games, winner gets a nice sps frag!

I will play anyone for Frags ! LOL now that would be fun.

Will go and search the forums for more info on the swap. Id like to go and see if there is anything I "must have"
Have about 100 frags I could bring just no ambition to do it
