I would like to do some testing on my skimmer between the mesh wheel and pin wheel.

tswifty. I'm curious to see how the pinwheel vs mesh mod tests out. It seems everybody is raving about the pinwheel.

Yeah me too. Marine Solutions tells me that the pin-wheel is all I should need for my 160... but I have doubts.

Once I am able to stop by Ray's to pick up the air meter, I plan on doing an SCFH comparison, as well as a weekly skimmate collection comparison.

I got a pinwheel impeller installed today. I had been running a mesh mod nw impeller (which was jacked up and causing drag) My skimmer would not restart pulling air but now it is with the pinwheel.

I'm very pleased with this pinwheel.

Are you running the stock pin wheel, or one of the "Purple Pin Wheels" from Reef Specialty?

I picked up the air meter, but need to find a larger hose barb before I can do the testing.

How large is the tubing on that skimmer? That barb fit even my Euroreef 250 tubing.
