Dyed coral

I recently acquired a yellow leather as pictured below. As far as I know, there are genuine yellow leather species available, however my specimen is way brighter than any photo's I've yet come across. I'm guessing it's probably dyed - so as a precaution, I've started feeding it reasonably heavily.

Could you tell me what you think? Are there any pointers to identifying dyed corals rather than simply avoiding the exceptionally bright specimens?

It doesn't look dyed to me. It looks like those yellow Fiji leathers that can be found. Here are two articles about dyed corals.

It could be that where it came from it did not get much light, causing the lighter color.
