Dying RBTA, or is this normal?

I have a 3 inch RBTA. I have had it for about a month or so. My water is very stable, with regular weekly water changes and my tank is thriving, except for my poor RBTA. It has been fine and in the same spot since I have received it, but th elast 2 days, it's been shriveling up to the size of a quarter. Also, it just moved to a dark low flow location, in fact, I can't even reach it for feedings now. Is this normal RBTA behavior, is it going to split or die? What can I do?

Here is a before pic...

Here it is now...on the side of the tank, back in the rockwork....

Please help, I really love my anemone and when any of my animials are sick, it makes me sick. Help me to help her.

Amanda

Yes, I have anemone shrimp as well as sexy shrimp that will occassionally hang out on it. But they don't hurt it, in fact, they seem to guard it from other things like other shrimp, fish or crabs.

Anyone have any ideas?

My water has been tested and is perfect, definetly not a water issue.

Amanda,

What you gave is a non-answer. "Perfect" means different things to different folks. What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, alkalinity, Specific Gravity and temp?

What is your filtration? What are the inhabitants (corals, fish and other inverts)? What is your maintenance schedule? What additives do you use?

could ur lighting be an issue? did u upgrade it from the stock lighting?

I don't think its the stock lighting since there are SPS pieces in there and clams.. that well... look happys as clams  man i'm so lame...

Starvation? Oh no, seriously? I thought I was over feeding actually. I was feeding every other day, small amounts of frozen mysid and formula one. I"ll run out and get silversides. It's more bubbled up today, only, still squished inbetween all the rockwork. Feeding it is going to be tough.

Kevin, I know you don't know me, but for a lot that do here on RC, I"m know for being Very anal about my water! Only the best RO water is used, My levels on everything are ideal. Zero Trates, trites and ammonia as always. Believe me, it's perfect. I have a digital thermometer at a constant 79.5 degrees, SG 1.025, CA 400 everything water wise is fine.

I have 1 150 HQI 14 K over my 24 gallon. My clams and SPS are doing fantastic, also it just moved to the shade, so maybe too much lighting?

It does look better this morning, I just wish she would come out. It must be the diet, she must not be getting enough nutrition. I'll give her some time, maybe 3 days and try a silverside.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

It's color still looks great, it's tenticles are more puffed up, but it's so small that the tiny piece of silverside I gave it yesterday was not consumed as I don't think it could fit it in it's mouth. Today I will try krill. It's in such a bad place too, I can barely reach my fingers in to it to feed it. I hope it moves.

give it some krill, scallops or silversides. mysid and formula 1 are not enough to keep it fed.

Sorry, I disagree. Although a varied diet is always a better bet, Formula 1 has a pretty varied list of ingredients, and mysid give plenty of protein.

Amanda,

Two things - do you know your pH measurements and/or swings? How about alkalinity.
?

Also,

What is your filtration? What are the inhabitants (corals, fish and other inverts)? What is your maintenance schedule? What additives do you use?
