Dying SPS while all Others Seem Fine :hmm5:

So, I am a bit confused as I am slowly losing an SPS that I've had for around a year. It is a Blue Micropthalma. All my other SPS seem to be doing great, have good PE extension, and decent coloration.

Should I be concerned?

I don't see any pests, but am going to do a Flatworm Exit, and Interceptor dosing this weekend.

Also, would it be ok to do these both at the same time, or must they be separate?

It could be a pest. not really sure what else it could be.

I wouldn't treat unless you know for sure you have those pests. Maybe you just need to move the coral. To much flow,light? Not enough? Fish bothering it?

check your alk, if its too low IME your sps might recced from the base up

A picture would really help us try to help you. I'd definitely get one posted here before dosing the tank.

ok SPS dying from base up can have many different meanings, as Sana said, KH is the most usual Issue, although if it was low enough to cause this, you would not be seeing STN but rather the coral would die from RTN.

now lets look back at what you have changed lately. has there been a big water change done ? any new methods of nutrition export done ? basically looking for anything u have done latly that you s usually dont, a sudden change in nutrition values can trigger this.
